Gordon Cole-Schmidt is a British-German journalist, specialising in world affairs and human rights.
His reporting has been published in many of the world's most respected publications, including The New York Times, Financial Times, The Guardian, CNN, National Geographic, Reuters, The Telegraph, Al Jazeera, Los Angeles Times, BBC, The Independent and Dazed Magazine.
He has travelled extensively to cover several conflicts, including Russia's war in Ukraine and the civil war in Sudan, and reported on the some of the world's most persecuted peoples in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
He began his career in Mexico, and has since reported from Ukraine, Sudan, Chad, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, among other places.
He speaks English, German, Russian and Spanish and is currently based in Berlin, Germany. He graduated in Russian and English Literature from the University of Exeter and St Petersburg State University before beginning his career in the media.
